چکیده

This study investigates critical heat flux (CHF) for subcooled flow boiling of n-Perfluorohexane based on results pre-launch Earth-gravity Mission Sequence Tests (MSTs) the Flow Boiling and Condensation Experiment (FBCE), which was launched to International Space Station (ISS) in August 2021. CHF measurements were made a rectangular channel having 2.5 mm by 5 cross-section 114.6-mm long heated segment. Both single-sided double-sided heating tested vertical upflow Earth gravity variety inlet conditions. Predictions using this consolidated subcooled-inlet FBCE-CHF database. A utility ratio included model capture effects corresponding thermodynamic non-equilibrium. An overall mean absolute error 19.04% indicates good predictive capability configurations, different environments, wide subcooling.

The Effect of Linear Change of Tube Diameter on Subcooled Flow Boiling and Critical Heat Flux

One of the major industry problems is the flow boiling, where reaching to the critical heat flux (CHF) condition can lead to a temperature jump and damage of the systems. In the present study, the effects of a uniform change in tube diameter on subcooled flow boiling and CHF was numerically investigated. The Euler-Euler model was used to investigate the relationship between the two liquid and v...

Critical heat flux for subcooled flow boiling in micro-channel heat sinks

Critical heat flux (CHF) was measured and examined with high-speed video for subcooled flow boiling in micro-channel heat sinks using HFE 7100 as working fluid. High subcooling was achieved by pre-cooling the working fluid using a secondary low-temperature refrigeration system. The high subcooling greatly reduced both bubble departure diameter and void fraction, and precluded flow pattern trans...

Experimental Study for Investigating the Mechanism of Heat Transfer near the Critical Heat Flux in Nucleate Pool Boiling

Heat transfer coefficient in nucleate pool boiling near critical heat flux at least one orderhigher than the convectional heat transfer modes. In this paper, an experimental setup isdesigned and fabricated to investigate the mechanism of heat transfer from boiling surface tobulk liquid near critical heat flux. The images of pool boiling near the high heat flux regionreveals that the individual ...

Photographic study of high-flux subcooled flow boiling and critical heat flux

This study examines both high-flux flow boiling and critical heat flux (CHF) under highly subcooled conditions using FC-72 as working fluid. Experiments were performed in a horizontal flow channel that was heated along its bottom wall. High-speed video imaging and photomicrographic techniques were used to capture interfacial features and reveal the sequence of events leading to CHF. At about 80...
